So… as in any democratic society, we have to provide protection for whitleblowers, unfortunately since we don’t live in any country with such adequate protection (ie: the slapping of “National Security” all over embarassing photos, stories etc.) then Wikileaks.cx has provided the world with a safe way to get information out to the discerning masses.
One such entry in the July 18, 2008 post on the site, involves a man appearing to be in his early to mid 30’s or so. This man has had wires stitched in arbitrary points on his face, as well as his lips being sewn shut with navy blue thread. The photo in question is posted here and was taken in early august 2004. It’s only gotten out now, four years later. As far as I know, the United States “does not practice torture” according to the supreme ruler, Gee Dub.
For all the WoT apologists/sympathizers, spare me the rhetoric and answer the only question that I can pose in a situation such as this:
Is this what civilized people do to one another?

Hearing about the US for the past few years has reminded me more and more of the Gulag Archipelago, except there’s apparently ‘just’ one actual official Gulag… still nasty and scary though.
And so wrong.
