Hundreds of club-goers this morning in Toronto were moving to a different beat as police swooped in on three individuals suspected of bearing arms inside a King Street nightclub. While suspects were being detained in the early hours of the morning, ETF tactical officers held up a throng of revellers at gunpoint while uniformed officers searched them for additional weapons.
Police on-scene reported the recovery of three handguns and the detention and arrest of more than 4 individuals.
On an interesting note: Rihanna’s new squeeze and Toronto-based recording artist, Drake, seemed to have been out the door long before the boys in blue arrived. I’ll bet you *he* didn’t have a gun in his face.
I especially loved the part where we (people working at the club) were told to exit first, and the second the door opened, I had a pistol, carbine and a taser trained on my face and vital organs.
Please, gangsters and gang-bangers, remember that if you’re involved in some serious shit that necessitates the use of a firearm for personal protection, you *definitely* aren’t in a postition to be leaving your home. Leave the piece in the casa, or leave yourself there.
PC Tony Vella (MRO) was kind enough to speak to me. Vella has told me that the officers in charge of the investigation will be posting a major news release for the incident tomorrow morning, stay tuned.
- A suspected gun-toter is detained, then knocked out by the ETF officer when he becomes non-compliant.
